Meme Pages on Instagram Are Businesses

They are “influencers” they make money by posting for those who are willing to pay. You’ll see them advertising “flash sales” which are mostly certain niche products being sold by a drop shipper. What’s a drop shipper? Someone who doesn’t actually hold inventory, but promotes a product, marks it up significant for profit, and orders on your behalf without you even knowing. The products can come from any online stores such as Alibab, Ali Express, Home Depot, Walmart.com, etc. Here’s an example, someone sets up an online store using Shopify.com store front and lists several watches they don’t actually have. Maybe on Walmart.com the watches cost $10, so they’ll list them at $40 + free shipping (free shipping is part of the technique). Now they just have to advertise it on Facebook and Instagram meme pages. Some people might like the watches and buy them for $40 through the drop shippers Shopify store. Now the dropshipper will personally use their credit card and order the watch from Walmart.com and use the shipping address of whoever bought it. Basically they’re a middle man.
